– ROBERTO ORCI, co-writer of 2009’s Star Trek, on the essential element of any great movie.
A lot of folks in Hollywood still don’t understand this.

He co-wrote the Transformers sequel, so it would appear he has trouble remembering it too.

I’m having a lot of trouble finishing Under the Dome.
The book is vintage Uncle Stevie but still an original story. That’s one of Stephen King’s true gifts, in fact. He can explore the same territory, even - to a degree - re-write old characters, etc, and the story will still be fresh. That’s a kind of genius right there, I don’t care what you say.
The prose is good. Uncle Stevie...

Grr.
No “input select” button on the DVD remote?
Or possibly a “TV/Video” button or “Source”?

I MEAN FUCK YEAH!!!!!!!!!
Agreed. I mean, I can viciously deconstruct all the plot holes in that movie if I’m analyzing it after the fact, but I watched it again yesterday with my father and my wife, and it’s still a fantastic thrill ride.
Except the bloated hands gag. That shit was lame.
Avatar, Interrupted
I woke up at 8:00am on a vacation day to drive out to the Mall of Georgia to see the IMAX 3D presentation of Avatar. About an hour and 15 minutes into the film, the fucking IMAX projector broke.
The IMAX 3D really is a submersion experience, so the disruption of the film annoyed me more than I think it normally would have. Or possibly, I had woken up at 8:00am on a vacation day and I was just...

The first official trailer for Kevin Smith’s ‘A Couple of Dicks’ ‘Cop Out’
Kevin Smith is a talented filmmaker, and even more talented script writer, but with his last effort ‘Zack and Miri’ (which average on so many levels) and now ‘Cop Out’, it does make any Kevin Smith fan wonder what Mr. Smith is doing making just generic films. Watching the trailer for ‘Cop Out’ you don’t even...

It’s amazing to me how many people in this country are openly over-prescribed meds. Sore back? Here’s some Percs AND Soma. Feelin’ down? Here’s some Ativan AND K-pins.
You know what gets me? How many people will look at 7 different drugs like that and think “Yeah, I need one of each today.” I get a little concerned if I have to take two drugs...

I don’t know. If the DNS records were changed, it’s really the hosting company’s fault. The article really brushes over this fact, almost disingenuously.
There’s only so much any company can do to control the security at their provider. They could switch providers, but how are they going to know if the new one is any better?

1. The Ultimates 2. 100 Bullets 3. Planetary 4. All Star Superman 5. The Walking Dead 6. The Authority 7. Mouseguard 8. Blankets 9. Invincible 10. Y The Last Man
With the exception of 100 Bullets, I fully agree with this list (not necessarily the ranking though).

Atlanta Property Taxes
I am keeping a watchful eye glued to the AJC’s new series about Property Taxes, the first installment of which can be found here.
I suspect this type of thing is happening all over the country, but it appears the AJC has undertaken a remarkably difficult task in compiling all the Greater Atlanta information regarding this issue.

Cameo? I’m a trained actor. I want an audition for a full-blown role! (Note, I live in Roswell, an Atlanta suburb.)

Also, the terms of the Dollar Baby contract state that...
Survivor Type
Ahh hell, it’s not even 8:00am on a Monday and Huff is talking Stephen King. And since I’ve been holding on to some exciting King-related news, might as well talk about it on the ol’ tumblr.

Meeting Stephen King
Stephen King is too damn famous. There were two lines at the Barnes and Noble, one for people who were guaranteed to get his signature and say hello, and one for people who might meet him if time permitted. There were a hell of a lot of people in the first line, so I doubt time ended up permitting.
It was an assembly line. Each person got maybe 10-12 seconds with the man while he signed the...
